Nah. I just read the story line that is on the World of Warcraft website.
AND I realized something about my little rant.
Anyone who played...Warcraft 3? I think it was will know what I am talking about.
The dialog that is in the trailer is actually Prince Arthas's father, speaking to him a LONG time ago. The Dialog is word for word a speech from a scene from a previous Warcraft. They just paired it up with the Lich King awakening. Actually really well done now that I realize what it was that they were doing.
Still coulda been better though *shrug* |
Exactly. If the Cinematic doesnt seem that much to you it's because you don't know the story behind that Cinematic. That Cinematic has ALOT of history behind it. At the end of the Undead campaign in Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne the Cinematic shows Arthas walking up the Ice spire to where Ner'Zhul's armor is frozen in Ice and as he is walking up that Spire he is remembering everything said to him during his "Vengeance Campaign" Like little things in the cutscenes. Like Muradin reprimending Arthas for betraying his men when he destroys the ships that brought them to Northrend. That Cinematic is I guess him remembering what his father was saying to him or something. I'll have to watch it again.
Edit: Alright I just watched it again, Yeah it seems like this Cinematic has to do with remembering what his father said to him when he was a child. I pick up his father saying how "I watched in pride as you grew into a weapon of Righteousness." Which was probably when his father had Uther the Lightbringer take him under his wing as a Paladin and Terenas hoped that Uther's patience would rub off on him. Unfortunately it worked the opposite of that and the Scourges arrival in Azeroth and a clan of orcs trying to hold onto a dieing tradition of communing with their demon masters again really took it's toll on Arthas' sanity. He became impatient, reckless and bent on vengeance when villager's were sacrificed for a demon ritual and once he found the 'supposed' leader of the scourge just drove his vengeance on even more when he himself sacked the town of Stratholme, I think it was, killing his own people so they didn't become the mindless undead of the Scourge. This was probably the pivotal point of his life. This would also probably explain why Death Knights(Or Shadow Knights in EQ terms) are considered fallen Paladin's becuase they were overcome with vengeance, doubt and hate which made them lose their faith in 'The Light'. Paladin's I guess would be the opposite; forgiving, reserved and patient but not entirely goodie goodie I would think they will intervene when the time is right.
