hey all! Thanks for all of your guy's support, I wish i could get in-game but i just don't have the energy! So, I decided I would hop online and answer some (if not all) of the looming questions that await me when I return regarding the delivery and all that jazz. This post may get graphic, so men beware. I know however, it is exactly what our women are looking for, lol.
Labor began at about 3a.m. the morning of the 10th (Saturday). We went throughout the day just fine, contractions about 10-15 mins apart, until about...oh, I dunno, whenever it was I made that post about me leaving to the hospital. Around 4ish I think it was. I then began having a bloody discharge that concerned me, so I contacted the doctor (MY doctor was out of town *sigh* so it was his stand-in guy that I have never met before) but he said that I should go in to the hospital so they could check me out. So, we went.
We got there, they said that I was 2 cm. dilated and my contractions were 12 mins apart. They asked me to walk around the hospital for an hour, which I did, and that brought my contractions to about 8 mins apart, but no further dilated. So, they sent me home and told me to return when they were 3 mins apart. That was at approx. 6:30pm
So, we go home, relax a little, I thought about getting on the forums and letting you guys know, but meh, whatever. So, contractions keep getting stronger and stronger and closer, by the time they were 5 mins apart, I told Ryan to call the hospital and ask if we could PLEASE come in because I wanted some fucking pain meds to take the edge off. They said sure, to come on in (I should note here that we live 25 mins away from the hospital).
That was at approximately 10:30pm
When we got back to the hospital, they checked me and said that I was at 4cm. and now what they called "active labor" as opposed to what I was in before which they called "early labor". They stated that at that point I should be dilating approximately 1cm. per hour, which would put me at 10cm. at approximately 5am. the morning of the 11th.
Well, yeah fucking right.
By 12:30am the morning of the 11th I was dilated to an 8 and my water broke. By 1:30am I was at 10 cm. and pushing, and at 3:46am our daughter was born.
I did not have an epidural, I did have very minimal pain medication. They were not meant to be active during delivery but simply to take the edge off of the contractions, however, since she came so quickly I was at the tail end of the meds when she was born.
I did not have an episiotomy (sp?) but I did tear slightly, I have 2 stitches.
So, yeah. I will check in in-game in a few days, after spending some time sleeping, lol. But I will check forums regularly, so any questions that need my attention can be directed to me via private thread or otherwise.
