Progression Raiding Rules

It’s time to update this now that we’ve progressed to having ZA and Gruul’s show up regularly in our raid calendar. I’m very happy to say that our current system has been working well and the success we had in Gruul’s is the best evidence of that fact. The better we function as ONE TEAM the further we’ll get in the 25-person instances. So, to continue with that theme, there will continue to be there will be no "teams."

With the main priority being leaving no one behind, the officers have come up with the following plan. If you are confused, please ask questions. In the end, you don't have to be on top of every detail. So long as we understand the invites and you all feel you're getting into a fair amount of raids, then all is well. If not, PLEASE DISCUSS YOUR PERSPECTIVES WITH US. We may have to tweak things to maintain the right balance and we only know to do that when people are letting us know what they think.

1) Officer Sanctioned Raids
At this time, we will continue with requiring that all progression raid level instances MUST be officer organized and sanctioned.

2) Raid Leaders/Assistants
Because we are getting bigger and because we have the opportunity to put more raid events in the weekly calendar, the officers are selecting a few players to be Raid Assistants. Raid Assistants may be asked to help the RL during a run. Or, they may be asked to lead Farm runs. While each person will certainly have their own style of leading, Raid Assistants are primarily expected to promote the same fair and casual yet focused atmosphere that we have established in our raids. They are also expected to have a pretty good handle on the fights but we don’t expect perfection.

We will expect the raid groups to support and encourage our fledgling Raid Assistants. They will be giving their time (and taking a chance with their self-esteem) so that extra raids can happen. Raid Assistants will report to the officers. Any concerns that some up in a raid are expected to be handled respectfully, as always.

3) Red/Blue (Invite Groups)
Because there is a "surplus" of instance ready players the officers continue to sort these players into invite groups: Red and Blue. As before, these are not teams as it is easily possible to need to pull from both invite groups in the same raid week.
The make up of these groups will be with the goal of dividing certain classes and specs as evenly as possible, so players may be moved to a different group as needed.

The function of the invite groups is that each alternate raid week, one of the invite groups will be given invite priority for the Main Raid over the players in the other group. The reason we use this system is that we want players to be able to say, well I don't have as much of a shot at getting in there this week but it looks pretty good for next week.

If you don’t see your name in the invite group list and you’d like it to be, make a post to request that you be added. We want all who want to raid to join us!!

Please note: If you are in the invite group that has priority that week, it still doesn't give you preference over a needed class/spec for the group make-up at invite time.

Regardless of which invite group you are in, you should still sign up for raids you want to be in every night that you are available. If your invite group is off for the week, it's still entirely possible that you'll be needed and preference will still be given to players who have SIGNED UP!

4) Progression

Our current, primary focus is UL-10. Naxx-10 & 25 runs no longer need to be officer coordinated. Anyone can toss them up and run them. UL-25 and Trials will be guild run as well, as we move toward mastering them.
